All about Python
Your mentorโs quick guide: how it works, what to try next, and answers to common questions.
Type your program, or type .. for ready-made code ideas. Type ?? after a line to have it explained.
โถ Run goes until the program needs your answer. โญ Step runs one line at a time and shows the next line.
The terminal shows every variable and its value โ changed ones light up.
๐ง What to make next
print ยท variables ยท input ยท if/else ยท for and while loops
Calculators ยท quiz game ยท report card ยท to-do list with a menu
Functions ยท lists and dictionaries ยท try/except ยท your own games
๐ What you need
- ๐ปA computer, tablet or phone with Chrome, Edge or Firefox
- โฌ๏ธAbout 12 MB the first time โ Python is then kept on this device

โ Questions students ask
Is this real Python?
Yes โ real Python 3.13 (the same one that runs on a PC), working inside your browser.
Why does it load slowly the first time?
Your browser downloads Python once (about 12 MB). After that it starts in a second or two, even offline.
What is the difference between Run and Step?
Run goes on until your program asks a question with input() or ends. Step runs just one line โ the highlighted line is the next one to run.
What are .. and ???
Type .. anywhere to pick ready-made code (print, input, if, loops, lists โฆ). Type ?? at the end of a line to get it explained in simple words.
TinkerPy Projects use the same kind of code to drive LEDs, motors and robots on your board.
